“Chocolate Covered Cherries”
“Chocolate Covered Cherries”
Acrylic, Ceramic & Wood
16x18”
2011

The idea of an image coming together as a whole after it's been separated into parts is a reoccurring theme in a lot of my work.

I painted the image of cherries and candy scattered around and between the tiles. The suggestion of movement is caused by erupting chocolate covered cherries which seemingly disrupts the positioning of the tiles on board.

The three dimensional effects were enhanced by building up the chocolate covered cherries with a sculptural medium.
